Kate is originally from Rogers, Arkansas, but relocated to Springfield in 2001. Kate began dancing at a young age and played Clara in the Nutcracker at age 8. She began training with Miss Peggie Wallis, certified teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance, and under her watchful eye went on to pass all exams with distinction and receive her Associate of the Royal Academy of Dance in 2005. Kate spent a semester training at the Ailey School in New York, and two summers at the American Academy of Ballet. She was a finalist in the 2004 Youth of America Grand Prix and later danced professionally with Texas Ballet Theater under the direction of Ben Stevenson and was promoted to administrator and instructor of Texas Ballet Theater School. Kate has enjoyed performing in works choreographed by Ben Stevenson, Sir Frederick Ashton, George Balanchine, Tim O’Keefe and Steve Rooks.
Ashley Ann Hendrix has been dancing for 19 years. She has trained at Debbie’s Dance Dimensions & The Dance Connection in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, lyrical, hip hop, contact improvisation and acrobatics. Ashley is currently a senior at Missouri State University, pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance. Some of her performance credits include: Moving Beyond, Spring Forward, A Chorus Line, Spring Dance Concert, The Miracle Sounds of Christmas, and A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum where she was featured in the role of Panacea and was named co—choreographer. In addition, she has choreographed dance pieces such as Condemned, Silent No Longer, & various pieces in CDA’s past production, Restored. Ashley currently serves as CDA’s modern dance instructor.
Stacy has danced since she was three years old. At the age of 10, she began performing with the Sonshine Performing Arts Academy in Springfield where she danced for seven years. Stacy also danced with the Messiah Project and performed in Poland, Germany, Austria and France. Stacy majored in Early Childhood Education and Dance Studies at Missouri State University (MSU). Since college, Stacy has choreographed and performed in the Messiah Project’s Miracle of Christmas. She teaches second grade in Ozark, is currently working on her master’s degree in education, and has taught children’s dance classes for over 10 years.
Annie Riegler is new to Credo this year. She has been dancing for 14 years. She trained primarily with Miss Peggie Wallis, certified teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance. Annie has continued her dance training at summer programs such as: American Academy of Ballet in New York, Texas Ballet Theater in Fort Worth, Storling Dance Theater in Kansas City, and Steve Rooks workshops here in Springfield. Annie enjoys performing and has performed in the Kickapoo High School's productions of My Fair Lady, Oklahoma!, and HMS PINAFORE. For her excellent performances, Annie was awarded two gold medals with distinction at the American Academy of Ballet's Perfomance Awards.
